The best restaurant in the world is Bulli in Spain, Montreal, Paris are good choices for culinary schools, but you have to speak French. I heard food chemistry was quite in, but I’m not quite sure what that is! Italy is always a good choice, I would honestly travel and find out what cuisine fits me best and go from there!

My brother does exactly what you want to do, and he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, NY. Good luck!!

Cal Poly Pomona has an excellent program in Hotel & Restaurant Management, but I am unsure whether it includes a culinary arts program. You should check out Cal Arts in Valencia and the Art Institute in Pasadena, which may offer a culinary arts curriculum. Cal Arts is more likely to have a program. there’s also a private college in glendale which I think has a program.

There are a number of outstanding culinary arts schools in the U.S. There’s a fine school, headquartered at the Mt. Vernon Hotel in downtown Baltimore, MD. Someone has already mentioned the school in New York - whenever I’m in that city, I make a point of taking at least one meal there. I believe there’s also one in either Berkeley or Oakland, but you’ll have to run a web search. There are schools - or were - in Dallas, Louisville, St. Louis, Chicago and Atlanta, too.

This is a great way to embark on a career as a professional chef. Best wishes and bon apetit!
