You need to practice cooking. I suggest picking up a good cook book and start from there.
and other online web pages are a great place to get recipes too.

Also watch the Home Cooking Channel or cooking shows to get ideas. I watch iron chief all the time - it’s great!

a great place to start is a bookstore. Get a cookbook that has food that interests you mexican, chinese, japanese, french etc. a good book called becoming a chef may help but it reads like a stereo manuel.

Just look up nice recipes, and experiment, have fun.
Make sure your parents don’t care if you try cooking a meal. Ask your mom if you can help her prepare dinner sometimes. Maybe you can even look up a recipe that you would like to try and cook dinner one night. Being a good cook is all about experimenting with things, seasoning etc. Just have fun with it! :)
    Good luck!

Hang out with your mother or who ever cooks your dinners. Becoming a chef is a wonderful idea. Basics are learning your spices and what go together, how to properly use knives, how to bake/cook/grill/steam/boil foods.

If you have the foodnetwork on cable, you can watch cooking shows all day. Everyone has their own special way of doing things. If not, you can check out foodnetwork.com for recipe ideas. chefscatalogue.com has lots of good quality kitchen tools and toys.

    Good luck in your endeavor!
