What kind of Chefs are there? and how do i start?

I really want to become a chef but i have no idea what kind.
How do i start becoming one?
-I’m in highschool right now
Am i wasting my time in highschool right now?
What kind of class should i be taking and where?
What can i do before i go to a culinary college?
Can someone tell me types of cuisines and what kind of food they cook?

Then there are your “specialist” chefs that specialize in a certain type of cuisines.
To get started, you’d need to finish high school and sign up for culinary school. While in culinary school, you would need a stagging (spelling might be wrong) job in a restaurant. Meaning you need a job as a kitchen helper/cook where you get your butt kicked by chefs/sous-chefs.

The school will teach you the basics such as the main sauces, temperature, etc.
I would get a part time job at a restaurant some where and see what type of food I want to be cooking or if I will even like to choose this as a career path at all.
